Music, to me at least, usually comes in two flavors. The first flavor, let's say vanilla, is nice and refined. Studio produced, it's what you hear on the radio, or on your iPod, or in your car, or even sitting at your computer. This music has been recorded, mastered, tweaked, filtered, and sounds exactly the same time after time. Vanilla is good.
I happen to like Chocolate better. I don't think anything can compare to the energy you feel at a live preformance. My first taste of Chocolate was way back in 1980. Yeah, 26 years ago?
OMFG. Well it was Black Sabbath, and Blue Oyster Cult, and I was a lucky 11 year old kid that had friends with big brothers that drove and bought one to many tickets... I think it cost me $14.00. I'll take the missed notes, forgotten lyrics, improvisation, and ENERGY over an .mp3 any day.
This little section is going to be all about the Chocolate, and some of my experiences. And everyone knows Chocolate kicks the crap out of Vanilla anyday.
Note: Oddly enough, it wasn't until February 5th, 1999 that I got to see the REAL Black Sabbath, and sadly, turned out to be the last time I ever saw Dimebag Daryl preform.

Another Note: These pictures happened to be takenby Vinny Appice, who I believe was the drummer for Sabbath when I saw them in 1980, and just happened to be hanging around "In case Bill Ward couldn't handle it
